The DAV possesses a wealth of institutionalized mechanisms and well-coordinated instruments. Our lobbying activities are focused on the specialties of national and European legislation and/or legislative processes. Firstly, the direct influence to the legislative and executive branches of the federation and the countries should be mentioned – both, with regard to the Federal Association as well as the DAV National Associations. For this purpose, the DAV maintains a network of numerous close personal contacts with the political decision-makers and officials, regardless whether in Berlin, the state capitals or in Brussels. An indispensable tool for effective sustainable advocacy is professional press and public relations. The PR department of the DAV supports the impact on the legislative process, and in addition, the influence on political processes by preparing social discussions in the pre-political context.
Furthermore, the presence at major events should also be mentioned, especially the DAV Annual Conference. Here, the central problems of the profession are discussed and solutions are initiated early on.
