Open Letter Regarding the Rule of Law in Hong Kong
Authorities should withdraw planned extradition legislation and set up an independent inquiry commission.
Berlin (DAV). In an open letter to the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, DAV President Edith Kindermann calls upon the authorities to respect the rule of law and to halt the planned legislative changes to the extradition laws currently in force. The DAV also expresses its concern about the violent events during the past weeks and urges the authorities to set up an independent inquiry commission.
